Space Force has a successful launch from Florida with SpaceX

Falcon Heavy launched from Complex 39 at 5:56 EST from launch Complex 39 in Florida, landing the two boosters back at the landing zones. The center stage was expendable due to the velocity required for the National Security Mission, making recovery not possible with this specific mission.

Today’s mission, USSF 45, is a national security space launch mission for the United States Space Force. SpaceX’s second Falcon heavy mission for the Space Force in about two months. Now, just like USAF 44 last November 767 will launch into a geosynchronous Earth orbit.

Secretive Mission

At the request of the customer, the US government, SpaceX did not show views of the payload, and ended the webcast just after Falcon Heavy’s side boosters made their way back to land on landing Zone one and landing zone two around the T plus eight minute mark into flight.
