Dear Moon announced the winners for the trip to moon with Japanese billionaire, Yasuka Maezawa.
The Dear Moon project is a proposed mission to send a group of artists and other creative individuals on a week-long trip around the Moon. The mission is being planned by the Japanese entrepreneur Yusaku Maezawa, who has purchased a seat on a SpaceX rocket for the trip.
The goal of the Dear Moon project is to inspire creativity and stimulate the imagination. Maezawa plan was to select a diverse group of individuals from different fields, such as art, music, film, literature, and science, and bring them together for a once-in-a-lifetime experience when he put out an open call for applications.
The crew announced on December 8, 2022 were:
Rhiannon Adam, Tim Dodd, Karim Iliya, Yemi A.D., Steve Aoki, TOP (Choi Seung Hyun), Brendan Hall, Dev D. Joshi, and Backup Crew Kaitlyn Farrington, and Miyu.
The trip will be conducted using a SpaceX Starship spacecraft, which is currently being developed by the private spaceflight company. The spacecraft will be launched on a Falcon Heavy rocket and will travel to the Moon, where it will orbit for about a week before returning to Earth.
During the trip, the passengers will have the opportunity to experience weightlessness, view the Earth and Moon from space, and conduct experiments and artistic projects. They will also be able to communicate with people on Earth and share their experiences with the world.
