SpaceX now targeting December 11th for HAKUTO-R mission

After some additional vehicle inspections and reviews, SpaceX announced on Twitter they have a new date for HAKUTO-R mission 1 NET Sunday, December 11 at 2:38 ET.

The HAKUTO-R mission is of particular interest because it potentially could be the first private lunar mission to land on the moon in April. Ispace‘s HAKUTO-R is taking the low energy lunar orbit which will put the landing time sometime in the Spring.

The first mission for Hakuto-R will have two payloads, one is a small Lunar rover from United Arab Emirates and a test of a solid state battery. The lander can carry up to 30kg and is also equipped with a 4k camera for imaging in space.

Sunday, December 11th will be a busy space day as the Artemis I mission completes with a landing of Orion out near San Diego, California.
