Redwire anticipates Artemis launch, helping navigate the mission
Redwire Space ($REDW) has integral tech on the Artemis I mission to launch Saturday, set to capture operational milestones and events.
The Orion Camera System 👁️
The Orion Camera System, developed by Redwire, is an array of 11 internal and external navigation and inspection cameras developed for the spacecraft. The cameras will capture critical, unprecedented footage of important operational milestones and events throughout the mission. The data and footage captured will also be used as research for future Artemis missions.
Orion Spacecraft
Orion is NASA’s next-generation human spacecraft for deep space missions and will enable humanity’s return to the Moon in preparation for future manned missions to the Moon and Mars. Sitting atop the large SLS, it will be uncrewed for this maiden voyage. The spacecraft consists of a Crew Module space capsule designed by Lockheed Martin ($LMT) and the European Service Module manufactured by Airbus Defense and Space.
Orion Comes back to Earth
If Artemis I is able to launch Saturday, Orion will makes its way back to Earth in a splashdown landing in the ocean on October 11th. The mission duration is projected to be 37 days with a Saturday take off.
