Slated for demonstration in 2023

Redwire Space (NYSE: RDW) announced today that it is developing the first commercially owned space greenhouse, capable of growing plants from seed to maturity. It will be installed on the International Space Station net 2023. Growing plants in space will be key to learning oxygen and water reclamation, which in turn will be helpful in future space exploration.

The Redwire Greenhouse will provide a true crop science architecture in space. The inaugural flight will be growing industrial hemp, in partnership with Dewey Scientific. This is another step in Redwire’s work proving commercial space is viable. “..Space is Open for Business” said John Vellinger, Redwire’s Executive Vice President of In-Space Manufacturing and Operations.
